Exercises are too simple |
I have 25 pounds to lose so I bought this book. I'm insulted that Jorge used such ridiculously simple exercises. We are not invalids for cripe sake! A book has to be pretty bad for me to write a bad review. This is one of them.
One of his "exercises" is standing there holding your arms out to the side. wow. how stupid is that? Hey Jorge did you ever think of exercise bands for beginners? duh. We can do that the only problem we have is the contorted postions sometimes expected by trainers, for example, Billy Blanks and his bootcamp dvd basic training warm up. Another stupid exercise by Jorge is lying on the floor and holding up a leg..wow.
I returned the book and I won't be buying anymore by Jorge Cruise. |

The perfect book for people in really bad shape |
I read this book 14 months ago and I have lost 51 pounds since then. I am now normal weight, as thin as I was 20 years ago. I had tried other books about weight lifting and found the exercises much too difficult. I was able to start with the ones in this book and work up to the more difficult ones later.
I really like the diet because he teaches you how to figure out what and how much to eat by just looking at your plate. It is so much less trouble than other diets. Nothing is completely off-limits. This is the kind of diet that you can stick with for the rest of your life. |

With tweaking, it works for nusing moms, too! |
| I recently had my 7th child and needed to lose about 35 pounds I've accumulated. But I have a VERY busy schedule (don't we all!) and need a program that doesn't make me leave home for the gym or take too much time from my kidlets. This program fit the bill! I started when the baby was 6 months old. In 7 weeks, I lost 15 pounds. I modified Cruise's eatting plan to include one more portion of dairy and meat, but I ate half a plate of veggies at every meal and did my morning exercise reigiously, right after nursing the baby. I realized I was eatting a lot of sugar in the afternoons to give me energy, and I changed my schedule to fit in a nap and snack on whole grain toast instead of cookies. But I still had my little sweet treat every evening, so I never felt deprived! I have graduated to Cruise's regular program, as this one now is too easy for me... I only have 20 pounds left to lose! Really works for real, busy moms! |
