| I agree in all aspects of teaching a child or infant to sign. It helped my son immensely when he was incredible speech delayed and today he still signs a great deal with his sister and at daycare. I teach sign language to the kids at his center and they love it. However, this book is not ASL. It is largely based on American Sign Language but has many made up signs that can not be utitlized in any community. American Sign Language is a language and I feel that that is the way it should be taught. |

OK, so I thought that the concept for this book was a little out there. Baby sign language? But after dealing with what seemed like my 15 month old daughter's 100th tantrum, I gave it a try.
I kid you not, within ONE day (yes, one) she was using 3-4 of the signs! I was amazed and am now a believer! It's been about a month and she is now using the words as well as the signs for words. The best part is that her temper has diminished because she's not so frustrated anymore! Neither are we!
I started using this book way too late. For my next baby, I will start immediately! |
